Where AI ads appear today
- Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. Google shows ads within and alongside its AI-generated answers. Eligibility comes through specific campaign types, such as Performance Max and Google's AI-powered search options, set up correctly inside a Google Ads account.

My view of the shift
Based on what I see in client accounts, people are moving from traditional search toward AI tools and the AI answers at the top of Google, and I expect that to continue through 2026 and into 2027. That is a perspective, not a promise. Businesses that learn these channels early will be better prepared than those who wait.
AI ads are not set and forget
The platforms automate a lot, but automation follows the goals, data, and guardrails you give it. Poor inputs simply waste money faster. My work is giving these systems the right direction and adjusting them every one to three weeks.
